Subscription Questions

What is a Coffee Subscription?

Coffee Subscriptions are a way of ensuring your coffee is delivered to you regularly to eliminate the risk of you RUNNING OUT OF COFFEE when you really need it. You can subscribe weekly, fortnightly, 3-weekly or 4-weekly to ensure your coffee is delivered when you need it.

How does the Brightside Coffee Subscription work?

When you subscribe to Brightside, you are subscribing to either:

  • One of our Blends
  • Filtered roast
  • Decaf Roast
  • One of our Single Origin Vibes

What is a Single Origin Vibe?
Because our coffee sources change with the seasons, the crops, the farmers, the planet alignment etc, it is impossible to guarantee you the same exact coffee source all year round. To fix this, all of our coffees are categorised by flavour vibe that you can subscribe to and we will send you the latest single origin roast within that flavour profile!

How much coffee do I need and how often?

Quick Answer: Aim to order fresh coffee every 2 weeks, based on how many cups per day you drink.

A 250g bag of coffee makes approximately 14 cups of coffee.  A kilogram bag of coffee makes approximately 60 cups of coffee.

Depending on how many cups a day you drink, here is how long each bag size will last you:

1 week 2 week 3 week 4 week
250g 2 cups / day 1 cup / day 1 cup / 2 days 1 cup / 4 days
500g 4 cups / day 2 cups / day 1-2 cups / day 1 cup / 2 days
1000g 8 cups / day 4 cups / day 2-3 cups / day 2 cups / day

How long does coffee stay fresh?

All Brightside coffee’s ship in a sealed bag with a valve to allow the gas to escape without oxygen getting in, with a foil lining to protect the coffee beans from direct sunlight, so Brightside coffee beans will stay fresher for longer.

If you are buying whole beans, coffee will stay fresh for 4-5 weeks if stored correctly in the bag it’s shipped in or an airtight container. We recommend getting through a bag in 3 weeks to maintain peak flavour.

Buying ground coffee does shorten the peak freshness of coffee to about 1 week, but it’s still delicious for 4-5 weeks if stored correctly in the Brightside coffee bag or an airtight container.

How do I get charged for my Coffee Subscription?

When you set up a new subscription you enter your card details. These details are encrypted and stored securely through WooCommerce Subscriptions and Stripe payment gateways.

Upon your selected subscription renewal period (1, 2, 3 or 4 weeks), a new order will be raised automatically and your card will be charged upon processing of that order.

You receive an email notifying you when your order is going to be renewed (so you can ensure you have funds in your account) and another email confirming when it has been dispatched.

How do I manage my subscription?

You can manage your Subscription if you log in to your account on brightside.coffee/account, you can click on the “Subscriptions” button above the personal details field. Alternatively, please email us at Hello@Brightside.coffee for help and we would be glad to help.

Some subscriptions may auto-renew at the end of their duration. If you don’t want to renew a subscription, you can cancel it. There is no penalty for cancellation, and there is no obligation or lock in contracts. Subscriptions are incentivised with free freight and easy order management and are designed as a convenience to home coffee drinkers.

If you want to cancel or change your subscription, you can do it at any time. If an order renews and you wish to cancel it before it has been processed by Brightside, we can refund and cancel your order at no cost. Your order confirmation emails have links to your order.
