Aeropress is one of the most delicious ways to brew coffee.

"It looks a a bit like something you would find in an Austin Powers movie, but it’s easy to use and extremely portable."
- Albert Einstein, circa 1920.

how to roast coffee at home

Here’s the Brightside quick brew guide for a lighter and brighter tasting coffee experience:

1 ) Rinse the paper filter with water, and insert to the brewer and attach the filter holder to the outer cylinder of the brewer. Put the brewer over your serving vessel or a cup.

2 ) Add 14 grams of finely ground coffee in the brewer (light roast for brighter, fruitier flavours).

3)  Pour 100g of boiling water into the brewer and over the coffee grinders, then give it a good stir.

4)  Pour another 100grams of boiling water into the brewer, and then carefully place the plunger of the press into the outer cylinder. This will prevent water from draining through the coffee before you are ready to press it.

5)  Steep the coffee and water for about 1 minute 30 seconds, then press the sweet delicious coffee into your serving vessel or cup. It will take a bit of force, but don’t overdo it.

Tip: Keeping the coffee to water ratio light and using light and bright coffees will give this brew a fruitier and juicier body and flavour.

For a more intense and strong coffee like the one with a bit more kick to it, you can try this recipe:

1 ) Rinse the paper filter with water, and insert to the brewer and attach the filter holder to the outer cylinder of the brewer. Put the brewer over your serving vessel or a cup.

2 ) Add 20 grams of finely ground coffee in the brewer (espresso roast or a coffee blend for richer more intense flavours).

3 ) Pour 100g of boiling water into the brewer and over the coffee grinders, then give it a good stir.

4 ) Pour another 100grams of boiling water into the brewer, and then carefully place the plunger of the press into the outer cylinder. This will prevent water from draining through the coffee before you are ready to press it.

5 ) Steep the coffee and water for about 2 minutes, then press the sweet delicious coffee into your serving vessel or cup. It will take a bit of force, but don’t overdo it.

Tip: The higher coffee to water ratio and longer brew time with the darker roasted coffee will give this brew a bolder richer and more intense flavour. Great if you are adding some milk.
